Owens, Strahan Are Top Senior Bowl Alumni Performers For Week Eleven

MOBILE, Ala. (November 20, 2007) -- Wide receiver Terrell Owens caught four touchdown passes to lead the Dallas Cowboys to a 28-23 victory over the Washington Redskins and earn the Senior Bowl NFL Alumni Top Offensive Performer Award for Week Eleven of the 2007 NFL season.

Owens, a 1996 Senior Bowler from Tennessee-Chattanooga, caught eight passes for 173 yards in the contest, including touchdown receptions of 4, 31, 46 and 52 yards to account for all of the Cowboys’ scores in the contest.


New York Giants defensive end
Michael Strahan

Defensive end Michael Strahan of the New York Giants, a 1993 Senior Bowler from Texas Southern and a member of the Senior Bowl Hall of Fame, recorded three quarterback sacks and six total tackles to help the Giants to a 16-10 victory over the Lions and win the Senior Bowl NFL Alumni Top Defensive Performance Award.

Over 575 former Senior Bowl players are currently active in the NFL.

Other top performances by former Senior Bowl players in the NFL during Week Eleven included:

Passing:

  • Jay Cutler, Denver – Completed 16-21 for 200 yards and two TD’s in Broncos’ 34-20 victory over Tennessee.
  • Jason Campbell, Washington – Was 33-54 for 348 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Brett Favre, Green Bay – Helped Packers to 9-1 record with another solid performance, completing 22-30 for 218 yards and three touchdowns.
  • Matt Schaub, Houston – Was 21-33 for 293 yards and two TD’s.
  • Carson Palmer, Cincinnati – Completed 37-52 for 329 yards and two TD’s.

Rushing:

  • Brian Westbrook, Philadelphia – Rushed for 148 yards on 32 carries.
  • LaDainian Tomlinson, San Diego – Gained 62 yards rushing and one TD and added 93 more receiving on five catches.
  • Andre Hall, Denver – Gained 89 yards on just seven carries including 62-yard touchdown run.
  • DeShaun Foster, Carolina – Rushed for 87 yards on 20 carries.

Receiving:

  • Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City – Top rookie receiver in 2007 had seven catches for 64 yards and one TD.
  • Bernard Berrian, Chicago – Caught nine for 102 yards.
  • Chad Johnson, Cincinnati – Had eight receptions for 86 yards.
  • Michael Jenkins, Atlanta – Hauled in nine passι for 73 yards.

Defense:

  • Ian Gold, LB, Denver – Had eight total tackles, seven unassisted, forced a fumble and also had an interception in an outstanding performance against the Titans on Monday night.
  • DeMarcus Ware, LB, Dallas – Had seven total tackles, four unassisted, and added a forced fumble and quarterback sack in Cowboys’ victory.
  • Cato Junes, LB, Tampa Bay – Made nine tackles, all unassisted, and added a forced fumble in Bucs’ win.
  • Brian Urlacher, LB, Chicago – Recorded eight total tackles, all unassisted.
  • Leroy Hill, LB, Seattle – Made ten tackles, five unassisted, and added quarterback sack.
  • David Harris, LB, New York Jets – Continued spectacular rookie season with 11 total tackles, seven unassisted, and added a sack in Jets’ victory over Steelers.
  • Morlon Greenwood, LB, Houston – Had nine total tackles, seven unassisted, and an interception.
  • Shaun Phillips, LB, San Diego – Recorded ten tackles, all unassisted.
  • Kirk Morrison, LB, Oakland – Had ten tackles, eight unassisted.
