[Complete List of Senior Bowl Top Performers]

MOBILE, Ala. (November 28, 2007) -- For the third time during his spectacular 2007 season, Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre has earned the Senior Bowl NFL Alumni Top Offensive Performer of the Week Award.

Favre, a 1991 Senior Bowler and member of the Senior Bowl Hall of Fame, completed 31-41 passes for 381 yards and three scores to lead the Packers to a 37-26 victory over division-rival Detroit on Thanksgiving Day and improve the Packers’ record to 10-1.

It was a week filled with top offensive performances by Senior Bowl alumni. In the Oakland-Kansas City matchup, rookie running back Kolby Smith rushed for 150 yards and scored two TD’s in his first career start, while Justin Fargas of the Raiders countered with a 139-yard, one-touchdown performance in his team’s 20-17 victory. Cincinnati’s Chad Johnson caught 12 passes for 103 yards and three scores in the Bengals’ 35-6 drubbing of the Titans.

Numerous outstanding defensive performances were also turned in by Senior Bowl alums, most notably the effort that was made by San Francisco 49ers rookie linebacker Patrick Willis, which earned him the Senior Bowl NFL Alumni Top Defensive Performance Award for the second time this season.

Willis, the first-round pick from Ole Miss, recorded 18 total tackles, 17 of them unassisted, and added half a sack in the 49ers’ 37-31 overtime win over Arizona. He also made one of the game’s biggest plays in overtime, when Cardinals wide receiver Sean Morey looked as though he had a clear path to the end zone for the winning score until Willis caught him from behind and saved the touchdown.

He edged out Minnesota Vikings safety Dwight Smith, a 2001 Senior Bowler from Akron, who recorded four total tackles, had three passes defended and two interceptions in the Vikings’ 41-17 victory over the New York Giants. He returned one of his interceptions 93 yards for a touchdown, the third-longest interception return in team history.

The 2008 Under Armour Senior Bowl is scheduled for Saturday, January 26, with kickoff set for 3:00 p.m. For more information, visit www.seniorbowl.com.
