Alabama's Gilberry, Auburn's Groves Among Featured Speakers At FCA Senior Bowl Rally

Tickets on sale now for one of the nation’s largest FCA rallies held annually during Senior Bowl Week in Mobile.

MOBILE, Ala. (January 12, 2008) -- Tickets are on sale now for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Chick-fil-A Senior Bowl Rally, one of the largest FCA rallies in the nation, scheduled for January 23 at the Mobile Convention Center.

Featured speakers at this year’s event will include University of Alabama All-SEC defensive end Wallace Gilberry and Auburn University All-SEC defensive end Quentin Groves, who will be in Mobile as members of the 2008 Under Armour Senior Bowl South team roster.

Other 2008 Senior Bowl players will also be on hand to give their personal testimonies, and attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from Steve Fitzhugh, a former Denver Broncos player who is the current national spokesman for FCA's One Way 2 Play-Drug Free program.

The Jonathan and Lisa Moore Band will provide musical entertainment during the rally, set for 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Considered to be one of the nation’s most effective youth communicators, Steve Fitzhugh brings unparalleled passion to the critical issues of today. Fitzhugh’s relevant message of motivation and success engages the most difficult to reach students with life-changing insight. Much of Steve’s fire is fueled by personal tragedy. In tribute to his loved ones, Steve travels the country as the national One Way 2 Play-Drug Free spokesman for FCA and communicates with relentless fervor to end drug use and abuse.

"The FCA Chick-fil-A Senior Bowl Rally is an opportunity for FCA to impact thousands of students and coaches from all over Southern Alabama with the life-changing message of the love of Jesus Christ,” said Cary Lowery, Southern Alabama Area Director. “In addition to this year’s rally, over 15,000 students on 10 high school campuses will be impacted by FCA's One Way 2 Play-Drug Free assembly programs. It is our desire to help make a positive difference on the campuses in Southern Alabama.”

For more information, call 251-767-8913 or go to www.southalabamafca.org.  Tickets can be purchased for $5 at any Chick-fil-A in Mobile, Daphne or Spanish Fort. All school and youth groups are encouraged to attend.
