Under Armour Senior Bowl Returns to Afternoon Kickoff
Mobile, AL. (Nov. 19)---Back by popular demand, the Under Armour Senior Bowl will once again feature an afternoon kickoff. The January 30, 2010 contest will kickoff at 3pm (CT) and will be televised live by the NFL Network, game officials announced today. The 2009 Under Armour Senior Bowl kicked off at 6pm, marking the game’s first ever nighttime kickoff.
“We tried the nighttime kickoff and while everything went smoothly last year, a lot of our fans expressed a strong desire to return to an afternoon start,” Senior Bowl President and CEO Steve Hale said. “Through the years, the Senior Bowl has been known for its afternoon kickoff and we believe it’s important to embrace this tradition.”
The return to an afternoon kickoff also ensures ample time for fans to enjoy the popular Senior Bowl tradition of tailgating, as the gates to Ladd-Peebles Stadium open up at 7am on game day.
“We realize that tailgating at the Senior Bowl is a huge tradition,” Hale said. “With an early afternoon kickoff our fans have the opportunity to enjoy tailgating before and after the game.”
Game officials also announced today that tickets for the 2010 Under Armour Senior Bowl are available for purchase at select Regions Bank locations. The five area locations are listed below. Fans can also buy tickets at the Senior Bowl ticket offices (151 Dauphin St. and inside Bel Air Mall), online at www.seniorbowl.com or by calling (251) 432-4109.
