As the Reese's Senior Bowl prepares to for its 66th game on January 24, 2014 at 3:00pm (CT) in Mobile, Ala., the Reese's Senior Bowl staff looks forward to assisting you in your coverage.
Director of Public Relations and Digital Media
The game week schedule has changed from recent years. Essentially, we've shorted game week by one day. Activities begin on Tuesday instead of Monday.
The Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel will serve as Reese's Senior Bowl headquarters. The Reese's Senior Bowl registration desk is located on the second floor of the Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel.
There are two types of credentials. 'Game Week' credentials allow access to Senior Bowl practices, Media Night and hospitality events. Game Week credentials are distributed at the registration desk on the second floor of the Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel beginning on Sunday, January 18 at 10 a.m.
A GAME WEEK CREDENTIAL WILL NOT ALLOW ACCESS TO THE SENIOR BOWL GAME.
'Game Day' credentials are specifically for covering the Senior Bowl game and will grant access to the field and/or the press box.
YOU WILL NEED TO REQUEST ONE OF THESE GAME DAY PASSES:
For working photographers/cameramen. Provides access to press box during pregame/halftime. TV stations will be allowed to have one working assistant/runner.
For working reporters. Will provide access to press box throughout game and sideline for final five minutes of the game.
Game day credentials will be available for pick-up beginning Thursday, January 24 at the registration desk on the second floor of the Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel. Game day credentials will NOT be mailed. The hours of operation are as follows:
Thursday, January 22 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Friday, January 23 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday January 24 8:30 a.m. -11:00 a.m.**
**Please note that the registration desk will close on Game Day at 11:00 a.m. After this time, credentials will be available for pick-up beginning at 11:30 a.m. from the press will call table in the Ladd-Peebles Stadium lobby.
With the exception of Tuesday's South team practice, all practices will be held at Ladd-Peebles Stadium and are open to the media. Tuesday's South team practice will be held at Fairhope's Municipal Stadium off Highway 98. Please note that photographers (both still and video) will be allowed to shoot practice on the field at both sites. At Ladd-Peebles Stadium, photographers are asked to stay within the designated area (Northeast end zone and sideline between goaline and 25-yard line) while shooting on the field. Failure to do so will result in dismissal from the field. No tripods allowed on either field. You can use a tripod from the stands or behind the fence at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
Please note that only NFL Network, local affiliated television stations and individual NFL clubs are allowed to shoot video of practice/game. Local televisions stations are limited to two (2) minutes of usage of practice video per day. Draft/internet sites are NOT ALLOWED to shoot video of practice/game for use on the internet.
PRACTICE: Players will be available on the field for 10 minutes following each practice. Please wait until a security official directs you onto the field. Some players will be escorted to autograph tents after selected practices (see Autograph tent schedule) and may not be available for interviews on that day.
GAME: Following the conclusion of the Senior Bowl game, interviews with players and coaches can be conducted on the field at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, but are encouraged to come to the Postgame interview area. REQUESTED PLAYERS will be available after the game in the 'Postgame interview area,' located under the West stands, near the lobby entrance (50-yard line). This will be group or one-on-one interviews, not a press conference setup. Requests can be made to a Senior Bowl media relations official during the fourth quarter. South and North Most Outstanding Players and the Most Valuable Player will automatically be brought to the media area following the conclusion of the game. LOCKER ROOMS ARE CLOSED.
*Coaches will be available upon request following practice and at news conferences scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday at 5 p.m. on the second floor of the Renaissance Riverview Plaza (Mobile Bay II room).
Parking for Senior Bowl practices at Ladd-Peebles Stadium is free and available on a first come/first serve basis. IF YOU ARE ONLY COVERING PRACTICE, YOU DO NOT NEED TO REQUEST A PARKING PASS. Media parking on Game day is extremely limited due to space constraints. Please make your request for Game day parking when you fill out an online credential request. Those approved for media parking will receive their pass when they pick up their game day credential. A media shuttle will be available from the Renaissance Riverview Plaza on game day. Check with PR Director Rob Lehocky for more details during game week.
Those not granted a parking pass, may take the media shuttle, which will escort media ONLY to and from Ladd-Peebles Stadium on game day. It will run from 11:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. (pick up times: 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm and 1:30pm) from the Renaissance Riverview Plaza hotel entrance off Royal Street) and then take you back to the hotel from 6:30p.m.-8:30p.m.
Media members are welcome to attend the National Scouting Weigh-In on Tuesday, January 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The weigh-in is in the Exhibit Hall at the Mobile Convention Center. All photographers are asked to stay on either side of the chairs and out of the way of scouts, coaches, front office personnel and players. Please only photograph athletes from the waist up.
For media interviews, all players will exit on the WEST side of the Exhibit Hall. There will be a media area near the Exhibit Hall exit, behind the curtains. NFL Personnel will exit near the rear of the Exhibit Hall on the EAST side (near river).
Media Night will be held Tuesday, January 20, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Cruise Terminal at 201 S. Water St. in downtown Mobile. Media is invited to come eat at 6:00 p.m. The first team will arrive around 6:15 p.m. and the second around 6:45 p.m. All players are scheduled to be in attendance, as well as both head coaches. This is your best opportunity for one-on-one interviews. Once players are finished eating, you are welcome to interview any player, or may ask a Senior Bowl media relations official for assistance. Only working media members with proper credentials are invited to attend.
There is no official media hotel for the Senior Bowl. Most activities for the game are located in the Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel located at 64 S Water St, Mobile, AL 36602.
