Senior Bowl Museum

Located on the bottom floor of the Senior Bowl offices on Dauphin Street, the Senior Bowl Museum opened its doors to the public this past fall. The museum, constructed by Murphy & Orr Exhibits, chronicles the 60 year history of the senior showcase event and its several charitable ancillary events. The museum was made possible thanks to a one-time gift of $150,000 from Mobile County.

Upon entering the museum, visitors will notice five large cases each of which are equipped with a touch screen display and filled with various Senior Bowl photos. Each touch screen includes a database full of information pertaining to the respective case. Also included within the museum is a grid wall which highlights the charitable giving the game has become known for over the years through events such as the Wells Fargo Senior Bowl Charity Run.

A theatre, complete with authentic stadium bleachers, gives visitors the opportunity to watch video highlights and Hall of Fame induction speeches from this past year’s game.

“What’s great about the theatre and the touch screens is that we are able to constantly update both with new content after every game,” Senior Bowl President Steve Hale said. “I think visitors will be very impressed with the amount of knowledge they can take home after walking through our museum.”

In addition to the main museum area, Murphy & Orr also constructed a grid wall in the community boardroom that among other things displays photos of the Mobile Arts and Sports Association chairmen and a giant aerial of Ladd-Peebles Stadium on Senior Bowl Saturday.

Admission to the museum is free and open to the public during normal business hours, 8:30am-5:00pm Monday through Friday. The museum is also open during select downtown events.
