MOBILE -- Logan Thomas certainly looks the part. At 6-6, 257 pounds, he is an imposing looking athlete that has NFL scouts intrigued. But after starting the 2013 season with a 5-for-26 performance against Alabama, Thomas had yet to live up to expectations -- until this past week.

Thomas lit up 11th-ranked Miami, thowing for 366 yards and two touchdowns in the Hokies' 42-24 victory at Sun Life Stadium in Miami. Thomas completed 25-of-31 passes (80.6% -- his highest completion percentage of the season by far) and finished with a quarterback rating (QBR) of 92.9 -- also his best of the year.
Thomas is the Reese's Senior Bowl College Senior of the Week.
"(I'm) just thrilled the way we played offensively," said Thomas, who also ran for 42 yards on 10 carries. "I think every win is a big win, but this is especially satisfying."
The win put the Hokies (7-3, 4-2) in a solid position to win the ACC Coastal Division. If VaTech can finish with wins over Maryland and Virginia -- a combined 1-10 in the ACC -- and Miami knocks off Duke, the Hokies would represent the Coastal Division in the ACC Championship Game.
