|Fales threw for 547 yards and 6 TDs.|
MOBILE -- The highly anticipated matchup between NFL quarterback prospects David Fales of San Jose State and Derek Carr of Fresno State did not disappoint.
The two combined for 1,066 passing yards and 12 touchdowns last weekend, but it was Fales who came out on the winning end of a 62-52 contest, handing the 16th-ranked Bulldogs their first loss of the season.
And Fales was the reason. The senior quarterback was 37-of-45 passing for a school-record 547 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions. He also ran for 33 yards and a score.
Fales is the Reese's Senior Bowl College Senior of the Week.
WHITE HELPS FALCONS EDGE BILLS
Roddy White has been battling injuries all season. Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons WR and former Senior Bowler forgot about his beat-up ankle -- at least for 60 minutes.
White caught a season high 10 passes for a season-best 143 yards as the Falcons picked up just their third win of the season, a 34-31 overtime win over the Buffalo Bills.
White is the Reese's Senior Bowl Alumnus of the Week.
"My ankle is still bothering me," White told the media after the game. "But, I'm a football player. That's what they pay me to do: play football. And that's what I've been doing my whole life. That's all I know how to do. So I'm going to get myself out there and fight with my teammates every week, if I can."
