Doughty, Kendricks earn week one honors

Doughty tied the Conference-USA record with six touchdown passes against Bowling Green. Doughty, whose previous high for TD passes in a game was three, set career-highs in every passing category as he completed over 80 percent of his passes, going 46-for-56 for 569 yards. It was the first 500-yard performance in school history and 23 yards shy of the league record. This came against a Bowling Green defense that was ranked 6th in pass defense and 10th in total defense last season. The Hilltoppers won the game 59-31.

Kendricks had 16 tackles. a forced fumble and a pick six.

Kendricks led the Bruins in tackles each of the past two seasons and started 2014 in similar form, leading UCLA with 16 tackles in the 28-20 win at Virginia. Kendricks also forced a fumble in the second quarter that was scooped by teammate Randall Goforth and returned 75 yards for a touchdown. On the very next possession, Kendricks snagged an interception and returned it 37 yards for a touchdown to give the Bruins 21 points -- all from the defensive side of the ball.

Dixon gashed Andalusia for 246 yards and five touchdowns -- including runs of 96 and 54 yards -- in the Bulldogs' 47-17 season opening win on Friday night. Dixon's rushing yards accounted for more than 75% of the Bulldogs total yards in the game (325).
