MOBILE -- David Fales has had his share of great games at San Jose State. Saturday, the Spartans' senior may have had his best.
Fales was 27-37 passing for 482 yards and five touchdowns, including the game-winner with seven seconds left, to lift SJSU past Wyoming, 51-44. He also ran for a touchdown as San Jose State overcame a 16-point deficit in the second half.
Fales now has 50 career touchdowns passes and is nine shy of tying the school record.
For his performance, Fales is the Reese's Senior Bowl College Senior of the Week.
JONES DOWNS JETS
Marvin Jones has a career day for the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
The 2nd-year wide receiver from Cal set a team record with four touchdown catches in the Bengals' 49-9 waxing of the NY Jets.
Jones caught eight balls on the day for 122 yards. Coming into the game, he had three touchdown grabs in the previous seven games.
Jones is our Senior Bowl Alumnus of the Week.
"It was a great day," Jones told Fox Sports. "They were all good looks and Andy (Dalton) put it where it needed to be on all of them. It was exciting and really fun."
FLOWERS BLOOMS FOR VIGOR
Vigor High School running back DeSherrius Flowers torched Faith Academy for 251 yards on 19 carries and scored four times in a 51-27 rout of the Rams on Friday night.
Flowers, a 2015 Alabama commitment, is our Gulf Coast High School Player of the Week.
Flowers scored on runs of 12, 37, 3 and 20 yards as the Wolves snapped a two-game losing streak.
