Senior Bowl Superstar

For the third time in the last four years a group will be performing the national anthem prior to the Senior Bowl. Foresight, a trio from Hurley, Miss., received a record number of online votes over a three day period to claim the title of Senior Bowl Superstar. Foresight is made up of Brelyn Nelson and brothers Brandon and Ashton Waltman. They collected 235,672 votes—50,000 more than last year's overall total—to claim the honor of singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" at this year's Senior Bowl on January 28th in Mobile's Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

Foresight joins Only 4 (2009) and Acapella Sounds (2010) as the only other groups to win the Superstar competition. Nelson and Brandon Waltman, both 19, are students at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, while Ashton Waltman attends East Central High School in Hurley.

"We'd like to congratulate Foresight on winning our ninth annual Superstar competition," Senior Bowl Sales and Marketing Director Chris Morgan said. "We're confident they'll do an outstanding job of singing the national anthem on Senior Bowl Saturday and judging by the amount of online votes they received, so do our fans."

After advancing past 78 fellow Superstar hopefuls during the preliminary rounds of the competition, Foresight beat out two other finalists—Breauna Jackson of Irvington and Jessica Strenth of Satsuma. All three finalists performed live on WKRG-TV's morning show during the week of January 9th-13th before online voting opened to the public. A total of 305,115 online votes were cast at www.seniorbowl.com from Friday January 13th to Sunday January 15th, smashing last year's all-time high of 181,929.
