MOBILE, ALA. – The Senior Bowl today announced its scouting staff for the upcoming college football season. With combined decades of experience, the staff brings a unique blend of on-field knowledge, scouting acumen, and player development insight. Their backgrounds encompass multiple Super Bowl victories, high-level coaching and playing tenures, and leadership roles across all levels of football operations.
The Senior Bowl scouting department plays a pivotal role in serving the NFL by bringing the best players to Mobile, providing NFL teams with a prime opportunity to evaluate top prospects in a competitive environment. Acting as the crucial first stage of the NFL draft process, the department helps ensure that NFL decision-makers have comprehensive exposure to the most promising talent available. This diverse team is committed to upholding the Senior Bowl’s tradition as the premier showcase for NFL Draft prospects.
This commitment is reflected in the Senior Bowl’s draft success each April, with at least 90 Senior Bowl players selected in every NFL Draft since 2021, underscoring the well-known mantra that “the Draft Starts In Mobile.” Last year alone, 91 Senior Bowlers were drafted, accounting for nearly one-third of the entire NFL Draft. 31 of 32 NFL teams selected at least one Senior Bowler, including four first-round picks, while nearly half of all selections in Rounds three through five were Senior Bowl participants.

Their collective backgrounds in NFL front offices, coaching and professional football give us an invaluable perspective when studying film, assessing players and identifying the traits that will lead to success in the NFL,” said Senior Bowl Executive Director Drew Fabianich. “This group has an exceptional depth of experience, from Super Bowl champions to veteran evaluators who have spent decades working across the college and professional levels. That expertise strengthens the credibility and quality of our evaluations. Together, we’re committed to making Senior Bowl the premier destination for NFL decision-makers and prospects to evaluate the next generation of draft talent.”
Alongside this expert group of evaluators, Executive Director Drew Fabianich and Director of Football Operations Jack Gilmore will also play key roles in the player evaluation process and final Senior Bowl invitation selections.
We are proud to announce the following individuals as scouts for the 2027 Senior Bowl Scouting Department (listed in alphabetical order): Jason Brown, Matt Dudek, Mark Gorscak, Brad Jackson, Russ Lande, JP McGowan, Bob Morris, Luis Ojeda and Dave Razzano. This year’s staff will also be supported by in-house scouting assistants Michael Newsome and Jackson Roby.
2027 SENIOR BOWL SCOUTING STAFF
Jason Brown – Jason Brown is entering his first season as a Senior Bowl scout. He is an Ohio native who currently resides in Southern California. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. He is a former NFLPA-certified contract advisor who represented several NFL players and a former NFL coach over nine years. More recently, he was an award-winning district manager in the insurance and financial services industry and currently serves as a board member for the Redondo Beach Police and Fire Foundation. He was also mentored by two former NFL scouts, earning a certificate in football scouting.
Matt Dudek – Matt Dudek is entering his second season as a Senior Bowl scout, bringing 17 years of experience leading personnel, scouting, and recruiting operations at Mississippi State, Michigan, Arizona, Rutgers, and Pitt. Notably, he was the first person in college football history to hold the title of general manager. Throughout his career, Dudek has overseen the development of more than 100 NFL draft picks, including numerous Senior Bowl participants and top draft selections. In addition to his scouting duties, he currently serves as a Senior Product Success Manager at Teamworks.
Mark Gorscak – Mark Gorscak brings nearly three decades of NFL scouting experience to the Senior Bowl staff, including 28 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is widely recognized as the official 40-yard dash starter at the NFL Scouting Combine, a role he held for more than 20 years. Gorscak is entering his third season as a Senior Bowl scout. During his distinguished career with the Steelers, he scouted nationally and contributed to four Super Bowl appearances, including victories in Super Bowls XL and XLIII. Before transitioning to the NFL, he spent 16 years coaching at the high school and collegiate levels and served as the first general manager of the Pittsburgh Gladiators during the Arena Football League’s inaugural 1987 season. Gorscak holds a degree in psychology from Dickinson College and a master’s degree in sports administration from St. Thomas University in Miami. He was featured in ESPN The Magazine’s 2010 NFL Preview as one of the “90 Faces of the NFL” and was honored in 2022 with the C.O. Brocato Memorial Award for Lifetime Service to NFL Scouting.
Brad Jackson – Brad Jackson is entering his fifth season as a scout with the Senior Bowl after participating in the 1998 Senior Bowl as a player and attending the Senior Bowl Scout School twice. A six-year NFL veteran, Jackson played linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers, making five starts during Baltimore’s Super Bowl XXXV championship season. A two-sport standout and Hall of Fame inductee at the University of Cincinnati, Jackson lettered in both football and basketball while graduating as the third-leading tackler in Bearcats history. He was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the third round (79th overall) of the 1998 NFL Draft. Following his playing career, Jackson became a successful entrepreneur and built an accomplished career in sports media, working across the Baltimore/Mid-Atlantic region and on national broadcasts. Most recently, he helped guide the UFL’s Louisville Kings to the 2026 UFL Championship in the franchise’s inaugural season. Jackson has participated in the NFL’s Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship and the Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship with the 49ers in 2026, further strengthening his experience in NFL player personnel evaluation.
Russ Lande – Russ Lande broke into football as an unpaid UCLA recruiting intern in 1993, then spent four years scouting for the Los Angeles Rams under Jack Faulkner, Charley Armey, and Dick Vermeil. He later worked as an editorial consultant for The NFL Today while also scouting the East Coast for the original XFL. In 2001, he joined the Cleveland Browns as their Midwest BLESKO scout. After leaving the Browns following the 2004 NFL Draft to run his family business, he founded GM Jr. Scouting LLC and became a national NFL Draft analyst, contributing to major outlets such as The Sporting News. He also appeared on more than 200 radio interviews per year and worked for four seasons as a Big Ten Network on-air analyst. Lande then joined the Montreal Alouettes as College Scouting Director in 2013, a role he held for six seasons. He added four more CFL seasons with the Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Elks, and Montreal before joining the Toronto Argonauts in 2024 as a U.S. scout for his 11th CFL season. He was also a small part of the team that won the 2024 Grey Cup with Toronto. Lande lives in Chicago with his wife, Kimberly, and their daughter, who attends university in the United Kingdom.
JP McGowan – JP McGowan is entering his third season as a Senior Bowl scout in 2027, bringing more than a decade of NFL scouting experience. He began his professional career as a scouting assistant with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2013 to 2014 before spending nine seasons as an area scout with the Miami Dolphins from 2014 to 2023. Prior to his time in the NFL, McGowan served as a recruiting assistant at Texas A&M University from 2007 to 2013. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M (2010) and a master’s degree from the University of Washington (2011).
Robert Morris – Robert Morris brings extensive football experience to the Senior Bowl scouting staff. A two-time letterman at the University of Colorado, Morris was part of the 1976 Big 8 Championship and Orange Bowl team. He spent 21 years coaching college football, including 11 seasons with Bill Mallory at Indiana, where the team appeared in six bowl games. Morris also served as defensive coordinator at Purdue from 1994 to 1997. Transitioning to scouting, Morris began with the Cleveland Browns in 2003 as a Southwest area scout. He later spent seven years with the San Francisco 49ers, including a Super Bowl appearance. Throughout his scouting career, Morris has focused on the Southwest and Midwest regions, with particular expertise in defensive backs evaluation. In recent years, Morris has held leadership roles as Player Personnel Director and General Manager in spring professional leagues, including the AAF, XFL, and USFL, as well as coaching in The Spring League. More than a dozen players from teams with which he has been associated have gone on to play in the NFL.
Michael Newsome – Michael Newsome is entering his fifth year as an in-house scouting assistant. Prior to joining the Senior Bowl, Newsome spent time on both the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars scouting staffs. Newsome played defensive line at the University of Alabama from 2011 to 2014, where he was a member of back-to-back national championship teams.
Luis Ojeda – Luis Ojeda has extensive experience as an operations executive and entrepreneur, with deep experience in talent evaluation and organizational leadership. He previously evaluated talent for the Hula Bowl from 2023 to 2025 and the East-West Shrine Bowl from 2011 to 2022. He also served as National Director of Football Operations for the American 7 Football League (A7FL) from 2023 to 2024. His background also includes high school officiating and coaching roles as a head coach, receivers coach, and offensive coordinator. A former wide receiver at Bemidji State University, Ojeda played from 1984 to 1987.
Dave Razzano – Dave Razzano brings 34 years of NFL scouting experience to the Senior Bowl. He most recently served as General Manager of the Memphis Showboats in the United Football League. Razzano began his career with the San Francisco 49ers from 1988 to 1992, contributing to multiple Super Bowl-winning teams. He then spent 14 seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, including two Super Bowl appearances, followed by a stint with the Arizona Cardinals during their 2009 Super Bowl run. Razzano later worked with the Indianapolis Colts for five seasons before joining the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders in 2018.
Jackson Roby – Jackson Roby is entering his third year as a scouting assistant with the Senior Bowl, after completing a Training Camp Internship with the Miami Dolphins. Prior to his start with the Senior Bowl he was a personnel analyst and offensive line assistant at Arkansas State. Roby is a graduate of the University of Alabama, where he was a five-year player for the Crimson Tide from 2018-2022.
