TWO WEEKS: TWO WEEKS LEFT, WHAT'S LEFT?
THREE WEEKS: GAME PLAN FOR THE FIRST THREE ROUNDS
FOUR WEEKS: FOUR COMPONENTS TEAMS USE TO BUILD DRAFT BOARD
FIVE WEEKS: FIVE PITFALLS TO AVOID ON DRAFT DAY
SIX WEEKS: SIX GUIDELINES TO ENSURE A SOLID DRAFT
SEVEN WEEKS: SEVEN CORNERSTONE POSITIONS YOU NEED TOP TALENT
It's been a long wait. Ever since the college football season ended with the crowning of the Florida State Seminoles as the National Champs back in early January, we've been inching towards the NFL Draft. Inching slowly.
But now that the Reese's Senior Bowl, NFL Combine and all the pro days are in the books, the draft is upon us. We've been counting down with a feature each week, starting seven weeks ago with the seven 'cornerstone ' positions in the NFL.
Now with less than a week before the draft there is only one thing for most clubs to do, says our Executive Director Phil Savage, a former general manager. Trust your preparation.
Scouts have produced a report from the fall, teams have flocked to Mobile for the Reese's Senior Bowl and then Indianapolis for the NFL Combine. And, they've racked up frequent flyer miles travelling the country attending pro days and even hosting prospects at their own facilities. Their draft boards are complete and they have wrapped up all the final details and developed a strategy for the first round on Thursday.
Now the fun begins.
