MOBILE, Ala. (Aug. 24) -- The college football season is just days from kicking off and fans can now watch the games with an eye to the future as the Reese's Senior Bowl releases its annual 'Watch List' of players for its upcoming 2018 game -- the starting point for the NFL Draft process.

“The release of our watch list signifies the opening kickoff for the Reese’s Senior Bowl,” said Reese's Senior Bowl Executive Director Phil Savage. “We are looking forward to evaluating these prospects over the next several months in trying to find the best 110 players in America.”

“For our passionate fan base, this list is a starting point to give them a perspective of what players they could see in Mobile come January," said Reese's Senior Bowl Scouting Coordinator Patrick Woo, who put the list together with Savage and input from clubs around the National Football League.

The initial watch list includes 401 players from 10 different conferences, independents, FCS, Division II and Division III schools from around the nation.

“After an extensive process, it’s a deserving privilege for these players to be recognized on this exclusive list," Woo said. "We look forward to getting out this fall to see all of the prospects on this list and many others that can still earn an invitation as we aim to form the best possible rosters for our event in January.”

Reese's Senior Bowl scouts will be all over the nation in the next few months, evaluating a senior class that features some intriguing quarterback prospects and a talent-heavy running back and tight end class.

The SEC features the most prospects on the list with 70, followed by the Big Ten (61), ACC (52) and Pac-12 (45).

Georgia (12), Alabama (10), Ohio State/Penn St. (9) and LSU (8) feature at least eight players on the watch list while Colorado, Florida State, Miami, NC State, Oklahoma State each have seven on the list. Several schools feature six prospects on the list.

Among the standout players on this year's list are: DE/OLB Harold Landry, Boston College, who led the nation with 16.5 sacks in 2016. He is joined by DE Bradley Chubb, NC State; OT Mike McGlinchey, Notre Dame; DT Lowell Lotulelei, Utah; OC Billy Price, Ohio State; ILB Rashaan Evans, Alabama;  OG Braden Smith, Auburn;  QB Luke Falk, Washington State;  WR James Washington, Oklahoma State and QB Mason Rudolph, Oklahoma State.
