Gallup, Senat stand out in opening games

Sun, Aug 27, 2017

Michael Gallup, WR, Colorado State | 6-1, 200
In an anticipated matchup vs. Oregon State cornerback Xavier Crawford, Michael Gallup got the best of it in three of four bouts. Overall, Gallup showed his ability to be a threat at all levels of the field in his senior debut and was targeted 15 times. The Georgia-native finished with 11 receptions for 134 of quarterback Nick Stevens’ 334 passing yards in the 58-27 win to open the new on-campus stadium.

Deadrin Senat, DT, South Florida | 6-1, 305
After falling behind 16-0 in the first quarter, Senat and his teammates picked it up for the last three frames in the 42-22 win at San Jose State. The USF front was stout in turning the Spartans one dimensional. While Senat only recorded one tackle, he lived up his run-stopping reputation being a key clog in holding San Jose State to 2.9 yards per carry.
