Za'Darius Smith OLB | Baltimore Ravens
2015 Reese's Senior Bowl
The fourth-year outside backer was one of the ring leaders of the Ravens' sack party against the Titans. He had three of the team's franchise record 11 sacks in the Raven's 21-0 blanking of Marcus Mariota and the Titans. He now has 5.5 sacks this season, tying his career best mark set as a rookie in 2015.
He is the Reese's Senior Bowl Alumnus of the Week, and also, for the first time in his four-year career, picked up a weekly award from the league, earning the AFC Defensive Player of the Week Award.
He's come a long way since his days at Kentucky, when he came to the Senior Bowl as a raw, but talented prospect.
“I didn’t play football that long, and coach (John) Harbaugh has been talking to me about working on my craft, practicing every day,” Smith told baltimoreravens.com. “Practice makes perfect. Me just going to work every day and playing my heart out. It’s starting to show, and I’m just glad everybody is seeing it.”
