Wagner fills stat sheet (literally) for Seahawks

Tue, Dec 04, 2018

MOBILE, Ala. -- Bobby Wagner filled up the stat sheet on Sunday.

Literally. And for a defensive player, that's not easy to do.

The 2012 Senior Bowl alumnus from Utah State did everything for the Seahawks in their rout of the 49ers. He had 12 tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, one interception, one pass defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Stat sheet. Filled.

"He's playing as good as you can play the game," said Seahawks coach Pete Carroll after the game.

Wagner has played more than 91% of the Seahawks' defense’s snaps and has 99 tackles and has accounted for 15% of the team’s tackles — without missing a single one.

This is the second consecutive season Wagner’s entered the regular season’s final month and has yet to miss a tackle.

Other standouts:

Von Miller | LB | Broncos
2011 Reese's Senior Bowl
Miller, in his eighth season, continues to dominate. He had 1.5 sacks on Sunday against the Bengals, pushing his season total to 12.5, second best in the league to Aaron Donald.

Josh Allen | QB | Bills
2018 Reese's Senior Bowl

Allen threw for 231 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, but was a force again on the ground, rushing for 135 yards on just nine carries. His 395 rushing yards are third in the league among quarterbacks despite only playing eight games so far this season.

Aaron Donald | DT |  Rams
2014 Reese's Senior Bowl
This is Donald's weekly spot on this list. All he did Sunday was force a huge game-changing fumble and record two more sacks to push his league-leading total to 16.5 as last year's Defensive Player of the Year is well on his way to winning it again. He's in play for the MVP award, too. The single-season sack record for a defensive tackle is 18, set by Keith Millard of the Vikings in 1989. With four games remaining, Donald also will have a chance at Michael Strahan’s overall single-season record of 22.5.

Carson Wentz | QB | Eagles
2016 Reese's Senior Bowl
The 2nd overall pick in 2016 completed 27-of-39 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-13 win over Washington.

Previous winners: Philip Rivers (Chargers), Kirk Cousins (Redskins), Darius Leonard (Colts), Cooper Kupp (Rams), Baker Mayfield (Browns), Za'Darius Smith (Ravens), Aaron Donald (Rams), Dee Ford (Chiefs), Tre'Quan Smith (Saints), Philip Rivers (Chargers)
