  • Weight: 303
  • Hometown: Kannapolis, NC
  • Age: 22

Brandon will be 22 years old on Draft Day 2018.  A two-year starter as a 245lb offensive lineman at A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis, NC, he redshirted in 2013 before becoming a four-year starter at left tackle for the Aggies. Brandon has been a three-time All-MEAC selection as well as being named the MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2015 and 2016. He is a mechanical engineering major and is scheduled to graduate in December 2017.

Pre-Draft Participation

Brandon arrived in Greensboro at 265lbs with a tall, rangy frame and has since added close to 50lbs during his five seasons with the NC A&T. He has extremely long arms, smooth muscles, a slightly high cut build, but some thickness to his calves. Coming into his senior year, in 36 total games, he had only been called for four penalties and not relinquished a sack in his decorated FCS career. Lining up as the left tackle, he plays from both 2- and 3-point stances, where he shows the ability to keep a wide base and bend his knees. In the run game, he is more of an athletic position than explosive power blocker. However, he will engage, run his feet and strain to the whistle. Most importantly, Brandon keeps his feet near the ground and does not get out of balance very often. He is more of a step-around than long puller, but he can redirect and catch movement at the point of contact. As a pass protector, he will set and punch with his hands and feet tied together. Because of his 35” arms, he can widen the edge and when he does overset, can see the skill to recover back to the inside. Brandon is aware to stunts and blitzes and appears to understand his assignments. Overall, he has intriguing upside, and while some scouts will rate him as “developmental”, this agile giant has potential starter written all over him.

WHAT NFL SCOUTS WANT TO SEE IN 2017: For Brandon to continue improving his strength off the field and to play with more suddenness and precision in game action.
