2010 NFL Pro Bowl Rosters Feature
24 Former Senior Bowlers
Favre, Cushing among Senior Bowl alums named to NFC & AFC rosters
MOBILE, AL. (Dec. 29) --
The 2010 NFL Pro Bowl rosters are out, and once again they are loaded with former Senior Bowlers. A total of 24 former Senior Bowlers were named to the post season all-star game, including 15 starters and 9 reserves. The 2010 NFL Pro Bowl will be played January 31st in Miami, Florida.
“This impressive list of former players is further proof that the Senior Bowl annually features the future stars of the National Football League,” Senior Bowl President and CEO Steve Hale said.
Barring a run to the Super Bowl, Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing will be making a trip to Miami after a stellar rookie season. The former Southern Cal Trojan and 2009 Under Armour Senior Bowl participant, Cushing leads all rookies and is fifth in the entire league with 128 tackles. He is also tied for third among rookies in sacks with four on the season.

The AFC and NFC rosters also include not-so recent Senior Bowl stars like 1991 alum Brett Favre. The Minnesota Vikings signal caller owns the third best quarterback rating in the league (104.3) and has the Vikings playoff bound as the NFC North champions. This is the 11th time Favre has been named to the Pro Bowl.

The NFL’s sack leader this season, Denver’s Elvis Dumervil (2006 Senior Bowl), is also Miami-bound. Dumervil, who has 17 sacks on the season, will be making his first Pro Bowl appearance. San Francisco’s Patrick Willis—the NFL’s leading tackler this year—will be making his third straight trip to the Pro Bowl. Willis, who starred in the 2007 Under Armour Senior Bowl, has 147 tackles on the season.
